O projeto "Broken Bells" do produtor e multiinstrumentista conhecido como "Danger Mouse" (gnals barkley e produção de discos do gorillaz) em parceria com o guitarrista/vocalista e também produtor James Mercer (The Shins) já vinha sendo acompanhando por diversos fãs, desde o lançamento (ou vazamento) do single "The High Road", criando muita espectativa entre os mesmos.O álbum teve ampla aceitação na comunidade musical, já rotulado como um dos cds mais "bem produzidos" da atualidade e inclusve definido, no site "laboratoriopop", como sendo o filho (menos deprimido auehuaheaue) resultante da fusão do "Amnesiac" (Radiohead) com o "Demon Days" (Gorillaz).
A sonoridade do Broken Bells pode ser definida como: dançante, indie, objetiva, eletrônica e agradável. As músicas relembram diversas estéticas, mas sem sair do eixo pop com uma pequena influência psicodélica.
São muitos os pontos altos encotrados por mim, tais quais em "Vaporize" (energética, com teclados e batida bem marcada), "The Ghost Inside" (virada ritmica com ótima harmonia) e a já aclamada "The High Road" (pianos e backing vocals de primeira). Porém, encontro pontos baixos em "trap doors" e "citizen" (não mostram nada de diferente/impressionante), que aparecem em sequencia no album.
